Airbus Helicopters UK accepts a small number of interns each year.
We are no longer accepting applications for internships in 2014.
High quality training is a major tool in maintaining and improving safety levels and to this end Airbus Helicopters UK is proud of its in house apprenticeship scheme which, over a period of five years, takes school and college leavers and develops them into licensed aircraft technicians qualified by EASA, the European Aviation regulator. There are two types of licensed aircraft technicians; B1 – engineers of the mechanical trade and B2 – engineers of the avionic trade. We train apprentices of both trades and they broadly follow the same program. Both will end up EASA Part 66 qualified, the B1 apprentices achieving additionally a National Certificate in Mechanical engineering and the B2 apprentices achieving a National Certificate in Electrical.
Apprentices are employed in blocks of 4 every other year and therefore we often have up to 12 apprentices in the programme at various stages.
At the end of the apprenticeship, our Apprentices should be licensed Aircraft maintenance technicians with several "Type Ratings" on Airbus Helicopters Helicopters ; ready to take their place alongside our vastly experienced maintenance and customisation teams or support Airbus Helicopters aircraft throughout the world.
The minimum entry qualifications for our enginering apprentices is grade "B" GSCE in Maths and Physics and grade "C" in English.
