Chief Certification Engineer

Purpose of the job

  • A critical role within a dynamic Design Office, developing bespoke interiors and mission equipment solutions for Airbus Helicopter Products. Operating within a diverse Organisation with multiple approvals including Flight Test, Production, Part 145 and CAMO.
  • This key role requires broad experience and knowledge of aviation industry at a Type Design and Certification level in both Civil and Military regulatory environments.
  • Acting as focal point and leader for certification, you will ensure consistency within the design teams for robust and cost effective solutions; interfacing with Designers, Compliance Verification Engineers and your own team members. You will also be expected to interface with all functions within the Company as well external Agencies and Customers.
  • Minimum requirements

  • 15 years aeronautical design experience with demonstrable knowledge and skills required by the role.

  • Design integration and architecture roles.

  • Showing and verification of compliance.

  • Team leader roles.

  • Operating with Civil and Military design organisations.

  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment.

    B1 Licenced Engineer

    Purpose of the job

    To carry out the certification of maintenance and repair on Airbus rotorcraft. AS350, AS355 Series, AS365, EC120, EC130, EC135, EC145 and EC155.

    Minimum requirements

  • EASA Part 66 B1.3 Licence (Candidates without a licence but with extensive aircraft maintenance experience that are in the process of studying for a licence will also be considered).

  • 5 years experience in a rotary environment. Type training on specific types will be given to a suitable candidate.

    Maintenance Planner

    Purpose of the job

    Responsible for Part M/A8-25 medium/short term planning requirements, Part 145/A8-23 material planning requirements and the production of work-packs to support aircraft scheduled maintenance inputs. Review of Aircraft base maintenance work packages prior to A/C departure. Update of Maintenance tracking system post maintenance interventions. The Part M/A8-25 planner is also responsible for raising and the upkeep of the maintenance forecasting sheet(s).

    Minimum requirements

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above or equivalent recognised qualifications (e.g. NVQ, BTEC).

  • Human factors training undertaken.

  • Recognised Part M Training Course accomplished.

  • Recognised Part 145 Training Course accomplished.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Maintenance Planning role.

    Experimental Test Pilot

    Purpose of the job

  • Responsible for the conduct and safety of all test flights under the terms of an EASA Permit to Fly, B-Conditions, Military Permit to Fly (MPTF) and associated procedures.
  • Conduct helicopter maintenance flight tests and ferries between operator and customer bases.
  • Assist the Chief Test Pilot in day to day maintenance flight operations scheduling in conjunction with business demands under EASA regulation.
  • Assist the CTP with the administration and safe operations of flights under MAA regulation within the companies CFAOS clearance.
  • Support AHUK Sales team with flight topics to promote the sale of AH products and features
  • Represent AHUK with both commercial and military customers at meetings, symposiums or industry events.
  • Minimum requirements

  • 2000 hours twin engine flying time; varied flying experience

  • Ex military trained pilot an advantage

  • NVG qualification an advantage

  • Instructor TRI/TRE Ratings an advantage

  • Experience of CFAOS an advantage

  • Experience as Instructor/Examiner an advantage

  • Graduate of a full course recognised test pilot school and hold an EASA Category 1 Flight Test Rating

  • Hold a current EASA CPL(H) or equivalent

  • Hold a current Twin Instrument Rating

  • Be capable of holding Instructor/Examiner ratings as required by the ATO

  • Non-certifying role.
  • Minimum requirements

  • Be able to read a wiring diagram

    Airworthiness Engineer

    Purpose of the job

    To Provide Part “M” Airworthiness Support Function within the Technical Services Department. This includes but is not exclusive to:

  • Periodical reviews of Aircraft Maintenance Programmes against fleet Maintained Aircraft.
  • Implementing/validating changes to the Maintenance Programmes in the MIS arising from revisions to the AMP ensure compliance against aircraft configuration.
  • Monitoring and implementing actions arising from applicability requirements ascertained as part of incoming airworthiness data review.
  • Minimum requirements

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above or equivalent recognised qualifications (e.g. NVQ, BTEC).

    Senior Airworthiness Engineer

    Purpose of the job

  • To facilitate and ensure that design solutions meet certification and airworthiness requirements in an effective manner throughout the design process.
  • To ensure any reported failures, malfunctions or defects associated with AHUK designs are assessed to determine effects on the continuing airworthiness of the product.
  • To ensure any necessary corrective actions are carried out in an appropriate timescales.
  • Minimum requirements

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Engineering degree or equivalent

  • 5-10 years working within design / engineering environment with electrical / avionic bias

  • Computer literate in MS Office desktop applications

  • Sound working knowledge of EASA IR 21J DOA obligations

    Purpose of the job

    The B1 Certifying Engineer is responsible for the certification of line, non-routine maintenance and repair on Airbus H135/H145 rotorcraft. Type training will be provided for a suitable candidate.

    Minimum requirements

  • Right to work

  • Must have thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems

  • Knowledge of specialised test equipment relating to engine and airframe systems

  • Must have up to date knowledge of:
    - EASA regulations, particularly Pt 145, Part M and UK ANOS
    - Continued Airworthiness Management (CAM) Flight/Airport Operations
    - Flight/Airport Operations
    - Aircraft Line Maintenance

  • Required to work shifts as part of normal working routine

  • Required to travel between Shawbury, Valley and areas dictated by Operational requirements (Deployments on a 3 weekly cycle)

  • EASA Part 66 B1.3 Licence (Turbine Rotorcraft)
